Wolf Brother books in the Netherlands

Dear Michelle,

First I would like to thank you for your Wolf Brother book series. I read them in my youth and have been re-reading them these past few months. Imagine my surprise when I found out you wrote more books for this series! I can't wait to read them and hopefully ill get them gifted for christmas!

My question is: Will the books be released in the Netherlands in a Dutch version? I have them in Dutch and would love to get the rest in Dutch as well with similar artwork as the original 6. I hope to be a father one day and share this amazing book series with my sons/daughters.

Reading the books again fills me with nostalgia, happiness and a sprinkle of sadness from lost time and over the years I have not found a single book series that comes close to the feeling Wolf Brother.

Your books made me love wolves and to this day they are still my favorite animals.

Thanks again and I hope to hear back from you 🙂

Kinds regards,

Jonah

Hello, Jonah.  I’m so glad that you’ve been re-discovering the Wolf Brother books after first reading them as a boy, and that they still speak to you; although I think I understand what you mean about that “sprinkle of sadness from lost time” (I love that phrase).  I feel something like that when I re-read a book that meant a lot to me when I was younger, as certain passages evoke the feelings which the younger me once experienced.  You asked whether the three later books are available in Dutch, and I’m afraid the answer is no, as the Dutch publishers decided not to have them translated.  So if you want to catch up with Torak, Renn and Wolf, you’ll have to read them in English.  I’m sorry about that, but I have no part in that decision.  I should add, though, that the English editions of the last three books – Viper’s Daughter, Skin Taker, and Wolf Bane – all feature marvellous artwork by Geoff Taylor, who did the maps and chapter illustrations for the first six books, as well as covers by John Fordham, who did the covers for the English editions of the first six books.  Maybe that will help make up for not being able to read them in Dutch.  Anyway, I hope that you enjoy them – and that some day in the future you will get your wish of being able to read them to your children.  Thank you so much for getting in touch – and may the guardian run with you!  With very best wishes, Michelle
