KYLE Writes…

Hi Michelle, I'm 30 now and processing some stuff from a rough childhood. I wasn't safe in my home growing up but I never felt alone. I followed Torak and Wolf, along with all the friends they made along the way throughout the chronicles of ancient darkness. Your books truly led me to a place of mystery and wonder. I just wanted to thank you so very much for helping me through those difficult teenage years. You had an enormous impact on the person I became.

Dear Kyle, thank you for such a heartfelt and moving message.  You know, I can sometimes feel rather low about writing – for instance, when publishers mess up bringing out one of my books – and then I ask myself if it’s even worth writing another story.  I was feeling a bit like that yesterday, until I got your message.  And it gave me the answer, plain and simple: this is why I keep writing.  It sounds as if you had a really tough childhood; and I think it’s enormously to your credit that you somehow managed to acquire the skills to really get into a book.  I’m so glad that Torak and Wolf (not to mention Renn, Dark and Fin-Kedinn) were able to help you through such difficult times.  And I hope and trust that your life is steadier now.  Thank you so much for getting in touch – and may the guardian run with you!  With very best wishes, Michelle
