I'm Hailey Jennings and I'm from V.A and my 9th grade English teacher showed me the book Wolf Brother I loved it so much, I loved how you made the story and I would like to know how you came up with the story for Wolf Brother.

Hi, Hailey.  The idea for Wolf Brother came to me in bits and pieces over the years, and then in 2003 all those bits and pieces suddenly came together (I don’t know why, it just happened) and I really wanted to write a story about a boy, a girl, a wolf and a large bear, set in a forest.  At the time I didn’t know that it would grow into a whole series of nine books, and that researching it would take me all over the Arctic, Scandinavia and Finland.  I simply wanted to write the story.  You can find more details about this on my website (follow the links to the video I recorded about “inspiration for Wolf Brother“), and there’s also information on how I wrote each story in the Author’s Notes at the end of each book.  I hope you enjoy them!  With best wishes, Michelle
