My name is Nicki Palmer , and I’m writing because I’ve been trying to track down a copy of your novel Dark Matter, but I’ve had no luck finding it for sale through the usual bookstores or online retailers.

I’ve heard many great things about the book and would love the opportunity to read it. I was wondering if you might be able to advise on where a copy could be obtained, or whether there are any editions or reprints available or planned?

Dear Nicki, I’m really sorry that you’re having trouble getting hold of Dark Matter,  and I applaud your persistence in trying!  It’s particularly frustrating, as last year was the novel’s twentieth birthday, and my UK publishers, Orion, put out a special anniversary paperback edition.  I’m afraid I have no control over where the book is published or distributed, and as far as I know it’s not available in north America – although I hope that this may change at some stage in the future.  So all I can suggest is maybe getting hold of a copy from somewhere like abe.com (which doubtless you’ve already thought of).  I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, and I hope that in due course your persistence is rewarded – and that you enjoy the novel when you do get hold of it!  With best wishes, Michelle
