Hi Michelle,
Life long reader of your books here. I just wanted to thank you for your new book, I loved it. As always, your books always come at the right time in my life. This time, I’ve just welcomed two toddlers into life via adoption, I’ve been really struggling with anything that requires some me time, but reading Rainforest, I was immersed in a world far from my own and I didn’t feel lonely as I could imagine all the insects around me. I am so thankful for your books, I know you had writers block, but it enabled you to write this book so I am so grateful.
I know you are at the other end of the life spectrum than me, looking after your dear mother, just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I work with a lot of people with dementia and I know how hard and draining it is for their carers.
Thank you again, Emily

Dear Emily, what an absolutely lovely message, thank you! If books can arrive at the right time in one’s life, then so can messages; I got yours while I was feeling sorry for myself after a grim few hours ploughing through a pile of admin – and your words both moved me to tears, and cheered me up. It’s also heartening to hear from someone at “the other end of the life spectrum” (that’s so well put). You have all my admiration for taking on two toddlers. I’m glad that in a small way, Rainforest helped. Thank you again for getting in touch – and may you and your family thrive. With very best wishes, Michelle
